Daringbadi, also known as the Kashmir of Odisha, is quickly gaining popularity among tourists. Daringbadi attracts visitors from all over the country due to its outstanding natural beauty. The location is named after a British officer named Mr. Daring, who was in command at the time. In the local language, 'badi' means "village."

This lovely hill station is dotted with lush pine forests and cascading waterfalls. Daringbadi is located in Phulbani, which has a number of well-known hilly destinations in the state of Odisha. Located in the Odisha district of Kandhamal at a height of about 3000 feet above sea level. Daringbadi is home to numerous rushing rivers as well as pepper and coffee plantations. This area is surrounded by scenic plateaus and wavy valleys. Daringbadi is also a melting pot of different cultures.

The winter months are unquestionably the finest time to visit Daringbadi. September to May are the cold months.

It's a lovely valley, quiet, calm, and green. Mandasaru Gorge is located in the Odisha district of Kandhamal. Gdang Kutti is the local name for it. The area is surrounded by dense deciduous moist tropical forest. The 15-kilometer stretch is densely forested and breathtakingly beautiful. Mandasaru is well cared for by 22 hillocks that are placed side by side. The tallest hill is Saashimaha Manda Hill, which rises 3280 feet above sea level.


Hill View Point


This is a popular tourist attraction. Tourists adore this location. Tourists can see a 360-degree vista of Daringbadi and its surroundings from this vantage point. On this hilltop, there is a park with two watchtowers. The park is immaculately kept and well-kept.

Midubanda Waterfall


This waterfall is located 16 kilometres from Daringbadi. Just keep in mind that you must descend approximately 181 stairs to reach the base of one of Daringbadi's best waterfalls. You must first walk for a short distance. The path is lined with lush trees on both sides. Water is gushing down from a high mountain, creating a pond at the base where people can also take baths. This is also a beautiful spot for picnics. It's an excellent location for posing and photographing. You must park your car at the starting point. The entry fee is approximately Rs.50.

Coffee Plantations


The climatic conditions in the area are ideal for coffee cultivation. As a result, coffee is harvested all year. The Odisha Soil Conservation and Forest Department is in charge of the coffee garden.

In Daringbadi, this is essentially a picnic area. This peaceful location is 13 kilometres from Daringbadi and is very scenic. The rocky obstacles serve as a gateway to the beautiful scenery in front of you. A small stream flows through the large rocks, making a melodious gurgling sound. The stream of water flows from a distant mountain and dribbles its way along the curvaceous rocky paths. It's fascinating to watch how the speed of the water changes depending on the position and balance of the rocks. 

The name "Lover's Point" does not refer to the presence of lovers in this location, but rather to the bond that exists between humans and nature.


How to Reach Daringbadi?


By air - the closest airport is Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneshwar. From the airport, it will take you about 5 hours and 25 minutes to get to Daringbadi by car.

By Road – You must travel to the Bhubaneswar Rail Station. There is good bus connectivity from the station. You could also hire a car. The distance is approximately 251 kilometres.

By Rail – If you are travelling by train, the nearest rail station is Brahmapur, which is approximately 121 kilometres from Daringbadi.
